キリム
中央アジアの草原地帯を遊牧する人々が、
羊の毛を刈り、糸を紡ぎ、染めて織り上げる。
最もシンプルな平織りの敷物で各部族で独自の模様がある。
遊牧の合間に織り進めるので両手の届く範囲の細長いサイズが多い。

ギャッベ
標高の高い厳しい環境に生きる羊は保温性に優れ光沢もある。
遊牧の合間に女性たちが楽しみと笑いの中で織るので自然界の明るい柄が多い。
動物柄、命の木、人など、生活と密着している。

Kilim is a flat-woven rug traditionally made by nomadic peoples of the Central Asian steppes.
From shearing sheep to spinning, dyeing, and weaving the wool, every step is done by hand.
Its simple flat-weave technique is one of the most basic forms of rug making,
yet each tribe has developed its own distinctive patterns.
As weaving takes place during the intervals of nomadic life, many kilims are long and narrow, r
eflecting the width a weaver can comfortably reach with both hands.

Sheep raised in the harsh, high-altitude environments of the mountains produce wool that is naturally warm, resilient, and lustrous.
Gabbeh rugs are traditionally woven by women who find joy and laughter in the creative process between the demands of nomadic life.
Their designs often feature bright, lively motifs inspired by the natural world. Animals, the Tree of Life,
and human figures appear throughout these rugs,reflecting the close connection between everyday life, nature, and the weavers themselves.
