At the beginning of spring, fabrics gently woven with the faint signs of the season come together.
Hand-spun silk creates a soft, translucent texture, combined with linen to form beautifully woven cloth.

真木千秋主宰の手織工房。
インドで布を作り始めて三十年以上が経過した。
糸の素材は主にインド亜大陸の各地に産する天然素材。
タッサーシルクやムガシルクなどの野蚕や, 家蚕, ヒマラヤ羊やカシミヤ山羊などから様々な糸が紡がれる。
そうした糸々を使い, 工房にて職人が手織している。
数年ほど前, 北インド・ヒマラヤ山麓に, スタジオムンバイの設計による GangaMaki 工房を設ける。
敷地内で糸芭蕉や木藍など染織材料を育て, 繭から糸を挽きつつ, 布づくり衣づくりに励んでいる。

A handweaving studio led by Chiaki Maki.
It has been over thirty years since she began creating textiles in India.
The yarns are primarily natural materials sourced from across the Indian subcontinent.
These include wild silks such as tussar and muga, as well as cultivated silk, and fibers spun from Himalayan sheep and cashmere goats.
Using these diverse yarns, skilled artisans weave each piece by hand in the workshop.
Several years ago, the Ganga Maki studio was established in the foothills of the northern Indian Himalayas, designed by Studio Mumbai.
